Dear Parents/Caregivers,
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires the implementation of the Keystone Exams, which are end-of-course assessments designed to assess proficiency in the following subject areas: Algebra 1, Biology, and Literature. The Spring Keystone Exam Schedule is for students who are currently enrolled in a course in a tested subject, or who did not yet pass the Keystone exams with Proficiency. Therefore, on Wednesday, May 14th we will begin our winter Keystone testing.
Students who are not taking a Keystone Exam will report to school by 11:00 am on the testing days (5/14 – 5/22). The school doors will open at 10:15 am for students NOT taking the Keystones, and they are expected to report to school no later than 11:00 am. However, any student who is scheduled for a Keystone Exam must report to school by 7:45 am as the exams will start on time at 7:50 am. Attendance and punctuality for these exams are critical so that further instructional time during the day is not lost to testing.
Keystone Spring Testing Schedule. (Students must take both modules even if they passed 1 out of 2 modules).
Start time: 7:50 am
5/14/14 – Algebra 1, module 1*
5/15/14 – Algebra 1, module 2*
5/16/14 – Biology, module 1
5/19/14 – Biology, module 2
*Note – no school for students Tuesday, 5/20/14 (staff only).
5/21/14 – Literature, module 1
5/22/14 – Literature, module 2
*Students taking the Algebra exam must come prepared with their own calculator.
