RUSH ARTS ATHLETICS

The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush offers 6 Varsity sports at the school as well as several student run sports clubs.  Each team has a separate page or website that can be linked to below.  This page, lists information parents may want to know about our athletics in general.

The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush is pleased to offer 6 interscholastic (travel) sports.

The school competes as a representative of  the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association,

District XII, Public League.

*  students from Rush Arts may try out to compete for Washington High School in most sports Washington has and Rush Arts does not.

(Students and their parents/guardians must arrange for transportation to Washington HS).

** students from Rush Arts may try out for regional teams in swimming, ice hockey and crew.

*** Students MAY NOT play for any other school other than what is listed above

**** Student run athletic clubs vary each year but common clubs include:

 basketball, indoor soccer/futsal, volleyball, small sided outdoor soccer, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, running club, flag football, rugby, badminton, and softball hitting club (at sluggersville)

My child wants to play in college..how do I get their information out there?  Well, there are a few different ways but assuming they are not a superstar standout and getting recruited heavily at games, the best way is to put yourself out there.

6) Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion Education

Sudden Cardiac Arrest:

In summer of 2012, the state adopted new rules concerning sudden cardiac arrest.  Not only do all coaches need to be certified in CPR and Basic Life Saving techniques, but all schools must provide education for parents and student athletes.  Consequently, the PIAA added a new page of their comprehensive parent permission packet concerning sudden cardiac arrest education.  Parents and student athletes need to sign before participation
