STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS
June, 2012
Media Arts classes culminated their photography work this year with photo books published on ISSUU.COM.
Students practiced their craft by handing in 24 to 36 exposures twice a week for a period of 6 weeks. During that time, they identified emerging themes in their work through weekly, student-run class critiques.
Once themes were established, work began in Adobe In-Design, creating 42-page documents, laying out each 2-page spread in ways that best featured the content of their work.
Photography Books look like easy things to make, but that is very deceiving. There is an enormous amount of detail and decision-making that goes into any good publication. This kind of keen visual perception is highly underrated. As it is with all art forms, the very best work looks effortless. That is the hallmark of mastery.
