PSAT TESTING OCTOBER 15

All 10th and 11th grade students at The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush will be taking the PSAT exam on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014. The purpose of this exam is to prepare students to take the SAT exam in the near future, which has the same format. This test is important, particularly for the 11th graders who have the opportunity to win National Merit Scholarships based upon their scores.

We will have a late arrival for all 9th and 12th grade students, who are NOT taking the PSAT; these students will report to school by 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 15th. The school doors will open at 10:30 am for students NOT taking the PSATs and they will be directed to the auditorium. Students in 9thand 12th grade are expected to report to school no later than 11:00am.  However, all 10th and 11th grade students, who are taking the exam, MUST report to school by 7:45am, as the exam will start on time at 7:50am. Attendance and punctuality for this exam is critical – students who arrive late will not be able to take the exam once the exam has begun.

The exam will take approximately three hours, and will run from 1st to 4th periods, during which no classes will be taking place. All students will report to their normal 5th period class after the exam, and school will continue on a normal schedule with 5th through 8th periods.

Sincerely,

Lori DeFields,
Principal
