Over the past weekend, four faculty members and myself presented at an education conference entitled, Educon 2.2. Our presentation was entitled, “What If?” and included media literacy projects and the critical role they play in our school. The main ideas of the presentation included the importance of collaboration among faculty and the value of visual/design studies and media literacy.
The audience at Educon ran the gamut and included K-12 teachers, superintendents, professors of higher education, as well as technology gurus. With such a diverse audience, we were able to expand our learning community and gain some of the best professional development this year.
In the end, the conference proved to be a wonderful networking opportunity as well. Many technology resources were shared at various presentations, and relationships were created among various professionals across the country. It will be exciting to keep in touch with many of the folks that we met and continue to share our ideas, resources, and projects, in a global way. Now, I need to get back to my blog!
Happy February.
