Morning SAT Prep Schedule
June to August 2012

Description
Mighty SAT Prep course is free and open to rising juniors and seniors in
Philadelphia. All students must interview and show evidence of commitment in
order to be considered for the program. The Prep program will cover the Reading,
Writing, and Mathematics sections of the SAT. If students are interested in receiving
additional feedback on their SAT essays, one-on-one mentorships can be arranged
through our Program Director.
Schedule
This summer, the morning class will run 10am-12pm & the afternoon class will run
4-6pm. Students enroll in EITHER the morning OR afternoon class.
PRACTICE TEST 1: Saturday June 29, 8am-12pm
CLASS WEEK 1: July 8, 9, 10, 11
CLASS WEEK 2: July 15, 16, 17, 18
CLASS WEEK 3: July 22, 23, 24, 25
CLASS WEEK 4: July 29, 30, 31, Aug 1
CLASS WEEK 5: Aug. 5, 6, 7, 8
CLASS WEEK 6: Aug. 12, 13, 14, 15
PRACTICE TEST 2: Saturday, Aug. 17, 8am-12pm
PARENT SESSIONS: Wed., Aug. 21 and Thurs. Aug. 22, 6-8pm
Please note: Practice tests begin promptly at 8am Students must arrive by 7:45am on these days.
No one will be allowed into the test after 8am. Students should also eat a good breakfast before
they come in. They may bring snacks to eat during the mid-test break.

The Vocal Spring Concert is just one week away! Thursday, May 30th at 6:30, come see the Vocal show featuring Choir 1/2, Choir 3/4, Chamber Singers, and solo acts!  Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and will be sold during lunches.  See Ms. Spencer if you have any questions!

Any Girl interested in trying out for the fall soccer team:
There is a short meeting in Mr. Corabi’s room (no longer than 30 minutes..probably shorter)
on THURSDAY, May 23rd.
This meeting is for all returning players AND any new players choosing to sign up
regardless if you registered online or not.

Concilio, a non-profit social service agency in Philadelphia, is hosting a Poster Contest where they invite young people under the age of 24 to submit artwork that represents the Puerto Rican Festival theme.  This year’s theme is “El Yunque,” the rainforest.  The winner of the contest has their artwork displayed as the Festival booklet cover and is invited to attend and be recognized at Concilio’s Annual Puerto Rican Awards Gala. If you are interested in participating, see Ms. Siering, Ms. Loinaz, or senior Kiani Lozada.

For the last 30 years… WPVI-TV 6abc gives an annual salute to academic excellence in area high schools!  This year The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush’s very own Katelynn Sweeney was selected to participate.  She had a full day of activities and workshops and could be featured in THE BEST OF THE CLASS OF 2013 half-hour special airing on Saturday, May 18th at 7:00 p.m. on Channel 6.  For more information…please visit the website…BestofClass.6abc.com
