<p>Morning SAT Prep Schedule<br />
June to August 2012</p>

Description</span><br />
<strong>Mighty SAT Prep</strong> course is free and open to rising juniors and seniors in<br />
Philadelphia. All students must interview and show evidence of commitment in<br />
order to be considered for the program. The Prep program will cover the Reading,<br />
Writing, and Mathematics sections of the SAT. If students are interested in receiving<br />
additional feedback on their SAT essays, one-on-one mentorships can be arranged<br />
through our Program Director.<br />
Schedule<br />
This summer, the morning class will run 10am-12pm &amp; the afternoon class will run<br />
4-6pm. Students enroll in EITHER the morning OR afternoon class.<br />
PRACTICE TEST 1: Saturday June 29, 8am-12pm<br />
CLASS WEEK 1: July 8, 9, 10, 11<br />
CLASS WEEK 2: July 15, 16, 17, 18<br />
CLASS WEEK 3: July 22, 23, 24, 25<br />
CLASS WEEK 4: July 29, 30, 31, Aug 1<br />
CLASS WEEK 5: Aug. 5, 6, 7, 8<br />
CLASS WEEK 6: Aug. 12, 13, 14, 15<br />
PRACTICE TEST 2: Saturday, Aug. 17, 8am-12pm<br />
PARENT SESSIONS: Wed., Aug. 21 and Thurs. Aug. 22, 6-8pm<br />
Please note: Practice tests begin promptly at 8am Students must arrive by 7:45am on these days.<br />
No one will be allowed into the test after 8am. Students should also eat a good breakfast before<br />
they come in. They may bring snacks to eat during the mid-test break.<br />

<p>Temple&#8217;s Summer Digital Community Leadership Program for Students. A free six week long community leadership summer program for high school students The program runs from July 1-August 8,Monday-Thursday from 10:00-3:00 each day. They are accepting applicants ages 14-22: High School Students and Community Members are welcome! Urban Apps &amp; Maps Studios (<a href="http://www.shadowfaxdigital.com/temple/" target="_blank">http://www.shadowfaxdigital.com/temple/</a> ) is a university-wide interdisciplinary program of urban civic start-ups and community engagement Here is how you can get involved. Temple&#8217;s Urban Apps &amp; Maps Studios sponsor and support multiple, interdisciplinary activities for students (high school, college, graduate), faculty, members of the community, non-profit organizations and local, small businesses. Through these collaborations, opportunities are identified for real solutions that are designed and developed for community member use. These apps and maps solutions are derived from ideas and opportunities from and for the urban environment. Some of the current School District students participated in an AT&amp;T sponsored hackathon with <a>$5000</a> in prizes. <p>JUNIORS:  SAT Prep opportunity for the summer.  The Mighty Writers will be holding an SAT Prep program free of charge this summer.  The classes from from 10:00 am &#8211; 12:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. &#8211; 6:00 p.m.  The program is four days a week from July 8th - August 15th.  As part of the program you will take two practice SAT tests which will be Saturday, June 29th from 8 am &#8211; 12 pm andSaturday, August 17th from 8 am &#8211; 12 pm.  This is a competitive program so sign up early.  The program takes place at 1501 christian Street in South Philadelphia.  For an interview call 267-239-0899 or email Rachel Loeper atrloeper@mightywriters.org.  See Ms. Senner with any questions.</p>
<p>WANTED:  TEEN QUIZ WRITERS &#8211; This workshop is all about quizzes.  You&#8217;ll take them them, discuss them, analyze them and (of course!) write them.  You&#8217;ll have the chance to publish your quiz on the Mighty Post teen blog for all your friends to take.  Classes meet Wednesday from 3:30 &#8211; 5:30 from July 10th -August 14th at 1537 South Street.</p>
<p>Summer on South Writing Camp &#8211; For rising 9th &amp; 10th graders.  Monday &#8211; Thursday from 9:00 a.m. &#8211; 3:00 p.m. from July 8th to July 18th at 1537 South Street.  Sharpen your writing skills and have big fun by joining other city teens for this 8-day summer experience.  The day will begin early with fun creative writing exercises.  Next, local journalist, Annette John-Hall will take over with her popular sportswriting class.  the day will conclude with David Williams, editor of the Mighty Post, teaching his blogging workshop.  You will also lunch with guest writers.  This is open to 12 students so applytoday.  Go to the mightywriters.org or see Ms. Senner.</p>
